Certification

Professional Coach University utilizes the Professional Coach Training Program to train leaders and aspiring coaches to develop coaching skills. Coaching skills prepare you to collaborate with others to reach their potential. The Professional Coach Training Program is built around four courses delivered in English. Each course comprises 15-hours of coach training. Up to three hours for each course may be asynchronous.

The cost per course begins at $269. Packages are available, reducing the cost of each course.

PCU accepts transfer credits from other training schools. A minimum of 50% of your required training must be completed via a PCTP Course if you desire PCU Coach certification. PCU maintains the right to award PCU certification to coaches currently certified with the ICF or with CCNI without completing PCTP courses.

Participants may purchase the required reading for each class, or use a public library. Any expenses incurred for required reading are the participant’s responsibility. If a participant withdrawals from the program before beginning or during the program, a $35 administrative fee will be applied, and any unused funds will be fully refunded minus any incurred transaction fees. All payments must be paid in full before the beginning of the course unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Program payment plans are defined in the current academic calendar.

Requirements for Certified Coach Level

30 Hours of classroom training. This is the equivalent of completing two courses with the Professional Coach Training Program.

40 hours of logged coaching. You must spread these hours over a minimum of five different clients. Your logged coaching hours may include a maximum of ten”pro-bono” hours. This means that you must receive payment for a minimum of 30 logged coaching hours.

5 Mentor coaching hours. You must receive at least five mentor coaching hours from an ICF-approved mentor coach.

You must be assessed by a Professional Coach Training. You must record submitted coaching sessions.

Your recordings must be over twenty minutes but not more than forty-five minutes long. Recordings will be turned off after forty minutes. Recordings may be video or audio files. You will be assessed on the use of the ICF Coaching Competencies. You will receive written feedback.

Requirements for Executive Certified Coach Level

60 Hours of classroom training. This is the equivalent of completing two courses with the Professional Coach Training Program.

100 hours of logged coaching. You must spread these hours over a minimum of eight different clients. Your logged coaching hours may include a maximum of ten”pro-bono” hours. This means that you must receive payment for a minimum of 75 logged coaching hours.

10 Mentor coaching hours. You must receive a minimum of five mentor coaching hours from an ICF-approved mentor coach.

You must be assessed by a Professional Coach Training. You must record two coaching sessions.

Your recording must be over twenty minutes but not more than forty-five minutes long. Recordings will be turned off after forty minutes. Recordings may be video or audio files. You will be assessed on the use of the ICF Coaching Competencies. You will receive written feedback.

Cost

The fee for your assessment is $100. If you meet all the above requirements and pass your assessment, you will be awarded coaching certification with the Professional Coach Training Program for one year. The annual certification renewal is $65.
